Friday Performance Canceled!... BUT...

ATTENTION:   The marching band performance at Mt. Vernon's  Downtown First Friday has been cancelled.  The powers that be pushed our performance time back 2 hours and they are concerned about having our band there in possible inclement weather.   BUT...  In lieu of that we will offer a 6 PM Parent and Family Performance on the new track field.  Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and join us for a pre-season marching band performance.  (This Friday at 6 PM - weather permitting).

Update for the Campfire...

Thursday campfire update... We thought it might be best if band members simply bring their own marshmallows to roast or some ingredients for s'mores, etc...  We had originally asked them to bring in some money to go toward food, but in retrospect bringing their own "stuff" can be just as fun.  The band staff will supply some drinks! Also...  Please be advised that tomorrow (Wednesday) evening's marching band pizza and game night will run from 6-8 PM, a change from the previous times of 6-9 PM.   Finally...  The band is attending the First Fridays in Mt. Vernon to perform at 6 PM on Friday and a good number of students have not returned their completed and signed Emergency Medical Forms .  If you don't turn them in ya can't ride the bus with the band!!!

Final Logistics for Band Camp Week #2

Great Mini Camp Everybody! Here's what's happening at next week's camp... Band Uniforms:  We are currently putting together some parent volunteers who will be coming in to assist in distributing band uniforms.  This will happen during the day. PLEASE. .. Once we have the uniforms sent out for cleaning, you adjust your uniform so the pant legs are absolutely even and everything fits the way it should.  Uniforms are not one-size-fits all and need to be hemmed, taken-in in spots and taken out in spots so the band members looks how they should.  This is probably our last season in these uniforms so feel free to make whatever alterations you need to.  Please keep in mind though, that band members who's uniforms do not fit correctly at uniform check will no doubt receive low scores (which are part of their band grade).  "IF" you need assistance with alterations please let us know. Marching Band Pictures:   Will take place on Thursday, Aug. 4th between the hours

Band Camp update...

#1 ........Super job so far everybody!  Make sure you are working on your marching technique and music every night at home... *  Practice in the mirror. and/or have a family member take a video of you then watch it so you can see your progress!!  As much work should be getting done on your own (every night at home) as we do when we're teaching it to you. #2. Uniform Fittings will occur next week on certain days between 1 and 3:30 PM.  Parents... Please be sure to take the uniform home and have it properly fitted to your son or daughter.  It is not a one size fits all situation.  Going to a seamstress (or doing it yourself is fine).  #3.  Mt. Vernon 1st Friday Performance on Aug. 5th ..........  Logistics are still being worked-out as we have not yet heard anything from the Mt. Vernon people.  We will keep you aware of things as we learn of them.  #4.  Band Pictures will be held late next week (still waiting to hear back from the photographer).  We will take a group photo in
