  ATTENTION ALL MARCHING BAND MEMBERS: We will need to postpone the first Marching Band Meeting until next Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:30 PM .  We find ourselves unprepared, and at this point only 50% of the band can be there.  See you next Tuesday !! This will also be a practice so be sure to bring your instruments!

This week... Congatulations to the CHS Jazz Band and everyone who helped and participated in this past weekend's Annual CHS Jazz "Jumbalaya Jam" Festival.  We had 14 bands perform, and enjoyed some homemade chili and Jumbalaya.  Kudos to the music booster parents who put together some super eats!  The full Livestream can be found on the Centerburg Music Facebook page!!   This week in music:  April 1st - 5th. 2024 Hello all Centerburg music people.  Hope you all had a relaxing break! Below please find the schedule for this week as well as some upcoming performance/participation dates. 1. All marching band payments are due in the music office by this Friday, April 5th.  Please make checks payable to Centerburg High School.  There is no way to use PayPal or Venmo for this as the board of education does not accept them.  Check or money orders only...   NO cash...sorry!  "IF" you have forgotten what you owe please shoot Mr. D. an e-mail or have your child check in with him during the school day. 2. The annual Centerburg Jazz Festival is slated for next Friday, April 12th  in the CHS Auditorium.  This year we're calling it the "Jumbalaya Jam" and student participants will have their choice of either authentic New Orleans Jumbalaya or Texas Chili.  The festival includes 14 area high school Jazz bands + the MVNU Jazz Ensemble.  Ad

  Last Minute Reminders: 1.  Band Concert Tonight at 7:00 PM.  See earlier post for logistics. 2.  I've only had 16 parents out of over 50 complete the High School Instrumental Survey .  If you didn't get one please let me know and I'll forward it to you. 3.  Permission slips for the March 23rd OSU Jazz Festival are due.  Please give to Mr. D. ASAP! 4.  Unfortunetaly, Mr. D. has had to postpone his sax recital at MVNU due to illness.  We'll let you know when we reschedule. 5.  Marching Band Payments are due after spring break (April 5th)

  Just a reminder... All 2024 Marching Band "online" registrations are due by tomorrow (Friday, March 1st).   The roster will be sent to the drill designer on Sunday and changes/additions will not be able to be made after that point.  Thank you!😀 IMPORTANT NOTICE :  While we currently have 88+ marching members in the band next season, we have NO BASS DRUMS , and need to recruit some students from other sections of the band to help us out!  If you would like a new experience for a season please take a chance and try marching bass drum.  See Mr. Dettmar if you're interested!! 🥁

  Marching Band Registration: Any and All band students registering for next season's CHS Trojan Pride Marching Band must do so by March 1st !   After this date the registration will no longer be live and students will not be able to register so... Registration for the 2024 CHS Trojan Pride Marching Band is now "LIVE" on the Centerburg Music Website and will be live only until March 1st.  Please do yours today! Go to : CENTERBURG MUSIC Go to "Departments" and then go to "Middle / High School Instrumental Music" .  From there scroll-down on the right to where it says "Marching Band" and click on it.  You will then see red ovals.   Click on the one that says 2024 Marching Band Registration and complete it.  Parents must sign AND payments and fees must be totaled and filled-in.  Please remember that this registration will have been up for a month and must be completed by the due date.   February 12th - 16th: *  All Ohio Wesleyan Field Trip Permission Slips are due today (Monday). *  The online Trojan Pride Marching Band Registration is currently live on the Centerburg Music Website .  Registrations will close on March 1st. *  The CHS Colorguard is currently accepting new members.  Practices are on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 PM in the choir room .  2024 Marching Band Registration: Next season's ONLINE Marching Band registration is now LIVE on the marching band portion of the Centerburg Music Website !  The registration will remain live only until March 1st, and  All marching band supply order payments are due no later than April 5th .  Students who have not made their payments by that date will not be placed on the band roster.  In addition, the list of band personnel will be given to the drill writer on April 10th .  Once that happens students who have not completed the registration will need to wait until next season to register for marching band.  Don't dilly dally AND see Mr. D. if you have any financial questions, difficulties, cash-flow issues, etc... we're here to assist! * As usual, please remember that in order to be involved in the instrumental music program at the high school level participation in marching band is mandatory .  We only add this clause in there as a reminder.   Week of Jan. 22nd - 27th: Congratulations to all OMEA Solo & Ensemble Soloists and Ensemble Performers!  Everyone did a super job this past Saturday at Granville High School.  Thanks for going the extra mile and taking it to the next level.  We're proud of you!   Week of January 15th - 19th: Monday:   No Classes Tuesday:   Faculty PD Day - No Classes Wednesday:  Mr. D. is free after school to assist with solos or flute trio .   Thursday:   Indoor Percussion / Advanced Middle School Percussion (finishes at 4:30 PM) Friday:    Final OMEA Solos run-throughs with the piano accompanist - Either period 7, period 8 or between 3 and 4 PM after school. Saturday:  OMEA Solo/Ensemble Adjudication at Granville HS .  The bus will leave CHS at 9:30 AM .  ALL participants must complete, sign and return the permission slip AND transportation questions by Friday!  REMEMBER:  " if" you are choosing not to ride the bus then only "YOUR" parent may transport you to and from (school district policy and insurance logistic) . Also...Students (even over age 18) may not drive themselves as this is a school-sponsored event .  (please dress nice....shirt.ties, dress, skirt, nice shoes, etc...)

  Band Camp Dates:  2024 Some of the bands were already notified of next season's camp schedule, but we needed to make a revision.  The correct dates are July 22nd-26th and July 28th - August 2nd .  Thanks you!  Please mark your calendars . Please remember that band camp is mandatory for all band members!

 This week:  Jan. 8th - 12th...  🔍 Announcements: *  We've been ha ving some technical difficulties with our Centerburg Music Website so please be patient.  The marching band registration forms should be ready some time this coming week.  Please don't use last year's! *  Initial solo coaching for all OMEA soloists will take place tomorrow (Mon. Jan 8th)  on stage with the accompanist.  Students have signed-up for either 7th period, 8th period or after school.  Please be as prepared as you can.  We'll help you... relax! *  OMEA Solo/Ensemble Adjudications will take place at Granville HS 2 weeks from now on Saturday, Jan. 20th.   A bus will be provided although students may ride with their parents if they'd prefer.  Families are invited to watch the performances.
