As we go on Spring Break...

 Announcements for over Spring Break... 1.  As we've been advertising in the 8th grade and HS Symphonic Band Classes, the "Music for All" Summer Music Symposium at Ball State University is an absolutely life-changing experience.  We already have 4-5 of our band members registered for this June 26th .  Mr. D. and a couple of the student leaders participated last summer and are coming back for more.  Over 950 band members from 35 different states.  Easy payment plans.  Make it happen this summer.  It's only a week!  Go to Music for All Summer Music Symposium and register.  Se ya there!  Ask your child for the flyer that was distributed in the band classes! 2.  Drum line, pit percussion and color guard will begin the week we return to school .  If you are marching next season you are required to attend practices.  "IF" you don't come to practices then you'll be relieved of your position.  It's pretty simple.  It's gonna be a great season. 

Concert and other things...

 Week of March 27th... Monday:   No HS Jazz Band Practice Monday: (Tomorrow!)   Spring Band Concert   7:00 PM   (Student report time:  6:40 PM)  Grades 6-12! Registration is now open for this summer's " Music for All" Summer Music Symposium at Ball State University in Muncie Indiana.  Last year over 950 enthusiastic high school marching band members from 35 different states got together for a week of drum line, marching technique, drum major academy, color guard academy, band director academy, student leadership clinic and music booster parent workshop and had an absolute BLAST!  No, it's not cheap, but just put down a couple hundred dollar deposit and pay it off by June 1st.  That's what we do!   Go to: " Music for All" Summer Music Symposium sponsored by Yamaha and Bands of America.  Read all about it, watch the videos and register.  See ya there!    June 26th - July 1st.  Congratulations! to the Trojan Pride Marching Band and Middle C Choir for outstanding performances this past weekend!  Fantastic !!! Monday, March 20th:  Jazz Band 7:00 PM  (Last practice before next weekend's OSU Jazz Festival) Do Not Miss !!! Saturday, March 25th:  Ohio State University Jazz Festival ( All jazz band members) Monday, March 27th:  Grades 6 - 12 Band Concert - 7:00 PM  (Auditorium)  Tuesday, March 28th:  MVNU Large Ensembles Concert (Come check out Mr. D's college Jazz Band)  Begins at 7:30 PM in the Chapel at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.  FREE 

It's Trip Week! Announcements and Schedule...

  St. Patrick's Day Parade Trip Week -  Announcements 🍀 Schedule : Monday:  HS Jazz Band:  7:00-8:30 PM Wednesday:   Final Marching Band Parade Run-Through : 3:00 - 4:30 PM (We will be holding a trip send-off for the administration and whatever faculty and staff would like to attend at 3 PM in the band room)  Then we'll go outside and march one final time. Wednesday 4:30 PM:  Parents may drop-off their child's "TAGGED"  luggage  during and after parade band practice.  Luggage may also be brought in on the day of the trip between 6:45 and 7:00 AM Thursday: Trip participants must arrive between 6:45 and 7:00 AM at the latest.  Be sure to grab your uniform garment bag with your hat, shoes and black socks inside, your instrument with extra reeds, oils, etc... and your luggage, and bring them to the buses.  (Be sure to have your money and/or debit or credit cards) NOTE:  Every trip participant we'll have both an electronic and paper copy of the trip itine

ATTENTION... All parents of 7th and 8th graders...

  Band and choir members were given a King's Island / Spring Music Festival/Competition questionnaire to bring home, have signed and return BY March 5th.  I currently have 9 returned out of 55.  Would you please have your child return the questionnaire by tomorrow, March 8th?  If becomes difficult to plan when students don't return thing in a timely manner.  I appreciate your cooperation!!! 

NYC Transportation for Parent & Family Spectators

  Getting in to N.Y.C. on St. Patrick's Day during the rush hour on a Friday...  Do this : 🍀 The band / choir (and most of our parents and/or families) are staying at the Embassy Suites in Parsippany, NJ .  The BEST way to get in to the city to see the parade is by TRAIN or BUS BY TRAIN: The Morris Plains Station is only about 15 minutes from the hotel, and you'll be in Manhattan in about an hour ( NO CHANGING TRAINS ). Straight shot. To find the Morris Plains Station :  Google Maps:   Embassy Suites Parsippany TO Morris Plains Station To see the entire NJ Transit Rail Schedule simply search: NJ Transit - Train Schedules .  Then enter "Morris Plains" followed by the destination". Kings Island Trip 2023

Last week all 7th and 8th Grade Band and choir students should have brought home a letter about the May 13 Kings Island performance competition trip. Here is a link to that letter in case it didn't make it home with your student. Students who are interested should bring in a $25 deposit by March 10 via check/money order/Venmo to the Centerburg Music Boosters.  We are looking forward to bring back the tradition which we've missed the past few years! 

Next 2 Weeks: March 6th - 17th Announcements

  Next 2 weeks... Important Stuff ! 7th & 8th Grade:  All band and choir members should have brought home the information pertaining to this year's Festival adjudication and King's Island Trip on May 13th .  If you did not receive it either ask your child or contact one of the directors.   Monday, March 6th: Jazz Band from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.  (shortened due to the number of members also in the play. CANCELLED DUE TO SCHEDULING .  Jazz band will practice on Wednesday, March 8th during 9th period... NOT in the evening.  (This was all last minute and could not be helped! Tuesday, March 7th:   "NEW" Band Uniform Fittings / Measurements   for everyone and anyone participating in the high school band program next year.  (This includes any incoming marching 8th grade students!).
