Great First Practice... BUT...

Hey Everybody! The drumline, colorguard and pit had their first sectional last Monday night and did a super job !  If you're in town make sure you attend this week's Guard & Percussion practice too!  Monday, June 29th at 6 PM. PLEASE...  Be sure to social distance!!!  I observed some of you getting rather close at last week's practice and had to say something.  It's really important to protect yourself and others!!  EACH WEEK YOU MUST FIND YOUR INSTRUCTOR, SIGN-IN AND ANSWER THE HEALTH QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU'RE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE!  ATTENTION. ALL PARENTS OF MARCHING BAND MEMBERS... If you're like me you're concerned for your kids and yourselves as the COVID-19 numbers escalate in Ohio.  Luckily, in Knox County there are currently only 4 active cases!  But, as I told one parent just today... please don't make any decisions yet based on what's happening!  Band Camp is over a month away and school is 2 months away.  So much could chang

Color Guard, Pit and Drumline Reminder...!

Hey, Don't forget... This coming Monday (June 22nd) we'll begin evening practices from 6-8 PM for all: a) Returning color guard members b) All "NEW" color guard wannabees c) All pit percussion members d) All new and returning drumline members Remember : a) To take your temp before you leave home.  Anything under 100 is acceptable b) To "bring" your mask.  Whenever you're inside (even to get your equipment) you must wear it! c) To social distance while outside.  You must remain 6' apart at all times. NOTE : a) Most drum line members have already picked-up their drums and have been practicing at home.  If you still need one let me know and I'll get it for you. b) All marimbas, bells and vibes that were loaned to students must be returned by the start of Monday's practice Who should attend the Monday evening practices? Everybody who plays percussion (pit and drumline) and all new AND returning color guard members. &

Guard, Pit & Drum Line Practices to Begin!!!

It's about that time...! Under the current athletic and band guidelines set forth by the Knox County Health Department we ARE able to begin evening section practices in small groups.  All students attending MUST: A)  Check temp . before leaving home for practice.  Anything over 100 is unacceptable. B)  MUST wear a face mask at all times while at practice C)  MUST keep social distancing of 6 feet - Instructors will assist with that! We will begin practicing on Monday evening, June 22nd from 6-8 PM at the high school ALL PRACTICES WILL BE OUT DOORS!  If it rains, we'll cancel that day! Marching Band Camp Dates!!!

Hellooooooooooo! Marching Band 2020! I've been getting some calls and e-mails asking about dates for marching band camp.  Well... they've been posted since February and you can see them by simply clicking on " Marching Band 2020 " right here on the music blog!  But, I'll go ahead and give a basic outline below... Marching Band Mini Camp :  The week of July 27th ⇨31st . (Not everybody comes all the time so please check the actual schedule) Marching Band Camp :  The week of August 3rd ⇨ 7th . (Participation at camp is mandatory and those students involved in athletics should submit the schedule they will be following during the week of band camp to the directors "before" camp begins!)
