Spring is here... sort of!

Spring Update... Congratulations to all Washington D.C. trip participants .  We had a groovy time despite the cool and somewhat damp atmosphere, and the choir and band did outstanding performances in front of the Jefferson Memorial.  Thanks also to all our parent chaperones and to Lucas Weiss for accompanying the choir on piano! Spring Percussion Training:  Wednesday, April 10th from 7:00-8:30 PM in the music area.  Everyone should have received an e-mail update from Mr. D.  IF you are planning on marching this season then you must be present at the Wednesday evening meetings.  These practices are for both drum line and pit percussion. Mattress Sale Meeting:  Come out to the CHS Auditorium at 7 PM on Tuesday, April 16th for a quick sales pitch!  If we get at least 70 people in attendance the band and choir get an automatic $500.00!! Marching Band Mailer:  Marching Band Mailers were recently mailed home.  Please read the "NEW" marching band handbook and return

Early Spring Update...

Early Spring Update: OMEA Large Group: (This weekend) Although our band and choir are not performing in this year's OMEA Large Group Adjudication Festival WE ARE STILL HOSTING IT !     Students who are interested in helping either this Friday evening or this Saturday from 8 AM to 12:30 PM should see either Mr. Dettmar or Mrs. Culbertson! Washington D.C. Trip - Itineraries & permission slips will be distributed today (Thursday) during band and choir classes.  They will also be available  electronically! Band performance attire :  For the performance at the Jefferson Memorial the band will wear their red band polos with "black slacks / skirt" and shoes (no sneakers).  It may be cool so they'll probably wind up wearing coats over them.  Maybe.  See the itinery for full information! The D.C. Band will be rehearsing during 9th period on both Thursday & Friday of this week and Tuesday of next week.  All trip participants MUST attend! Congratulations!
