Centerburg Music Department

  This week in music:  April 1st - 5th. 2024 Hello all Centerburg music people.  Hope you all had a relaxing break! Below please find the schedule for this week as well as some upcoming performance/participation dates. 1. All marching band payments are due in the music office by this Friday, April 5th.  Please make checks payable to Centerburg High School.  There is no way to use PayPal or Venmo for this as the board of education does not accept them.  Check or money orders only...   NO cash...sorry!  "IF" you have forgotten what you owe please shoot Mr. D. an e-mail or have your child check in with him during the school day. 2. The annual Centerburg Jazz Festival is slated for next Friday, April 12th  in the CHS Auditorium.  This year we're calling it the "Jumbalaya Jam" and student participants will have their choice of either authentic New Orleans Jumbalaya or Texas Chili.  The festival includes 14 area high school Jazz bands + the MVNU Jazz Ensemble.  Ad

  Last Minute Reminders: 1.  Band Concert Tonight at 7:00 PM.  See earlier post for logistics. 2.  I've only had 16 parents out of over 50 complete the High School Instrumental Survey .  If you didn't get one please let me know and I'll forward it to you. 3.  Permission slips for the March 23rd OSU Jazz Festival are due.  Please give to Mr. D. ASAP! 4.  Unfortunetaly, Mr. D. has had to postpone his sax recital at MVNU due to illness.  We'll let you know when we reschedule. 5.  Marching Band Payments are due after spring break (April 5th)

  March 11th Band Concert: Start time:   7:00 PM  Auditorium Concert Attire:  Middle School Bands:   Red polos and black slacks/skirts with black shoes... High School Band:   Semi formal  (dresses, skirts/blouses, ties, jackets or sports coats, etc... Look nice! Band Report Times and Locations : 6th Grade Band:   6:30 PM:  Band Room 7th & 8th Grade Band:   6:45 PM: Choral Room High School Symphonic Band:   BY 7:00 PM: (not 1 minute after) Band Room Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

Monday:  HS Jazz Band 7:00 - 8:30 PM (stage) Wednesday:   Color Guard Practice/conditioning 3:00 - 5:00 PM Thursday: Drum Line and Front Ensemble (Pit) & Advanced Middle School Percussion Practice. 3:00 - 4:30 PM Upcoming Dates : Monday, March 11th:   Middle & High School Band Concert 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 13th:   Middle & High School Choral Concert 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 13th: Faculty Saxophone Recital at MVNU (Chuck Dettmar and Adrienne Lape) 7:00 PM in Thorne Performance Hall. Saturday, March 23rd:   Ohio State University Jazz Festival  (HS Jazz Band Field Trip (8:00 AM - 9:30 PM) - includes evening headliner performance.
