Weekly Update: Week of 10/9/17
High School Band Announcements -
* Marching Band Practices: Are Monday (3-4:30), Wednesday (3-4:30) & Friday afternoon.
* This Friday is Senior Night and we will be performing the "Senior" halftime show!
NOTE: MARCHING BAND STUDENTS ARE ONLY TO USE THE "CAFETERIA-AREA" RESTROOMS OR LOCKER ROOMS TO CLEAN-UP AND CHANGE BEFORE A FOOTBALL GAME. IN ADDITION, THE ONLY DOOR BAND MEMBERS MAY USE WHEN RETURNING TO SCHOOL "AFTER" A GAME IS THE EVENT ENTRANCE (MUSIC HALL). Please do not bang on doors or run around the school attempting to find an open door. The school administration does not want any student in the halls after a football game! Thanks!
* This Thursday, Oct. 12th the marching band will be playing at the Girl's Volleyball game! Everyone is asked to be in their seats in the gym (same as a pep rally) BY 6:00 PM! Wear your band polos.
* H.S. Concert Band Chair placement recordings are due to Google Classroom BY Saturday, October 14th. Chair placements will be posted by Tuesday during band class!
* High School Jazz Band: Will begin practices this coming Wednesday evening, October 11th from 7-9 PM.
General Announcements:
ALL Middle School band students are responsible for checking their band's Google Classroom page to keep track of which playing examples are due. Examples should be practiced and recorded using either an i-phone, i-pad, lap top or desk top computer, and uploaded onto the desired Google Classroom Assignment. Instruction forms went home last week, and there are more available in the band room if you need one! "If" a student does not have the resources to "record" their examples then they may, if necessary, perform them live in the band office. We'd rather see them recorded if at all possible!
7th & 8th Grade Band Chair Placement Tests: Will be due on Saturday, October 21st. Scale sheets will be distributed in band class this week and Test materials will be available on each band's Google Classroom by mid-week. Chair placement tests are NOT performed live unless resources for recording and attaching to Google Classroom are unavailable.
