Congratulations!!!
on a great 1st Bandtoberfest band show hosting! Thank you to the Centerburg Music Boosters, all the parent volunteers, directors and instructors and, of course, the marching band for all their hard work and dedication!
Marching Band Schedule: Looks like this is the end...!
This Friday, Oct. 27th: Practice from 3-4 PM. Away game at Fredericktown at 7:00 PM.
Monday, Oct. 30th - ALL marching band shoes removed from garment bags and taken home until the springtime! Please DO NOT leave shoes in school!
Jazz band Schedule: (Practices are mandatory) - jazz band is a graded and credited course
Tuesday 7:30 8:00 AM.
Wednesday 3:00 - 3:45 PM
Pep Band Sign-ups: Coming soon!
Mr. D. and Mr. Porter are currently working on a schedule. When signing up you'll be asked to place a "check" next to the games at which you WILL be present. You'll be expected to be there for those games.
Middle School Jazz Band: Sign-ups are currently on the white board. Please understand that not every student who signs-up is guaranteed participation. Depending on how many students sign-up, there may need to be a brief try-out for certain (or all) sections. Practices will be for 45 minutes after school one day per week. Coaches are generally very receptive to a student coming to their practice 30 minutes late once per week as long as they know they were involved in jazz band!
Knox County Honor Band: (Rehearsals & Concert)
Monday evening, November 13th ( MS Band at Mt. Vernon Middle School - HS Band at Mt. Vernon High School. (Transportation is on your own).
Tuesday (field trip), November 14th - Bus will leave CHS at 7:50 AM and return by the end of the school day in time for buses and/or after school activities. Lunch is provided! The concert is that same evening at 7:00 PM & participants are asked to report to the Memorial Theater in Mt. Vernon by 6:30 PM (Transportation on your own)>
OMEA District X Honor Band: (Rehearsals & Concert)
Tuesday evening, November 28th (MS Band at Mt. Vernon Middle School - HS Band at Mt. Vernon High School) Transportation on your own.
Saturday, December 2nd (All Day) at Hodges Chapel (Mount Vernon Nazarene University) Student registration in the lobby starting at 8:00 AM. Rehearsals begin at 8:30 AM. Lunch is provided as well as t-shirts and a CD of the concert. Cost per participant is $10. Please make checks payable to the Centerburg Music Boosters ASAP. Thank you and good luck!!!
HS Concert band Chair Placement Tests: Are now 1 week over due! Please be aware that each week during second marking period a "100 pt" participation grade is entered into the grade book. This Chair Placement test is also worth 100 pts!! Chair Placement Test scores will be entered into the grade book tomorrow during 3rd and 4th periods. If we do not have a record of your playing test your overall grade will be in jeopardy. Please stay on top of things! See Mr. D. if you're having any issues.
