Weekly Update 10/16 - 10/20
Music Update:
Bandtoberfest 2017!
When: This coming Saturday, Oct. 21st (Starting at 7:00 PM)
Where: Utica High School Football Stadium
Who: Centerburg, Utica, Highland and East Knox Marching Bands
What: Marching Band Festival sponsored by both the Utica and Centerburg Music Departments AND Music Boosters!
We still need parents to sign-up (register online at the CHS Music Booster Facebook Page).
We need: Ticket takers, concession workers, band hosts, traffic coordinators, etc...etc...
Spectator Admission is $5, $3 for seniors and students and FREE for children under 5.
Centerburg Band Members: Report time to school on Saturday, Oct. 21st is 4:00 PM. We will load the trailer at that time. The buses will pull-out at 4:30 PM!
NOTE: Band members, directors and staff will need to remain briefly after the festival to clean the stadium!
High School Band Chair placement Performance Examples: Are now due on Google Classroom. Teacher's grades are due on Power Teacher by this coming Wednesday. Be sure to attach your examples!
Middle School Band Students: (Grades 6,7 and 8) - Please be sure to check your band's Google Classroom to stay on top of playing assignments and to record and attach your examples! Extra instruction sheets may be found on the grand piano in the band room. IF you absolutely cannot record and and attach please see Mr. D. sometime each week or so to play them live in the band office. Stay on top of them!!! Good Luck!
Congratulations to all of our 6th grade beginners!!! You made excellent progress and are now PROMOTED to the regular lesson groups starting this coming week! Keep up the great work!
High School Jazz Band: Second marking period (quarter) schedule is as follows: Tuesday mornings from 7:30 - 8:00 AM and Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 - 3:45 PM! See you there. This starts NOW...!
