It's Virtual Concert Preparation Week!

 Announcements...

The Virtual Holiday Concerts for band and choir will be recorded professionally during the school day on Monday, December 14th (BANDS) and Tuesday, December 15th (CHOIRS).  Performances will take place during each group's usual class period, mixed professionally and made available for families to watch online. Those students who are currently at home are permitted to participate and will need to sign-in with their director as soon as  entering the building!  We ask them to please arrive 15 minutes before the class begins!  Music students do not need to go through the main doors of the school, but may (and should) simply use the event entrance.  Band members should simply come through the huge double doors to the backstage area and sign-in on the counter to their left.  From there they may come and take their 6' spaced seats on stage.  Both Hallway and backstage doors to the outside will remain open before, during and after all performances for optimum ventilation and air circulation AND band members are only permitted to pull down their masks upon the "horns-up" command .  The stage will stay warm however.  No worries. 👍

Logistics:

December 14th:

1st Period - 6th Grade Band. (Please come to school wearing your red music polos and either black or khaki slacks or skirt).  "IF" you have not received your polo please stop in to see Mrs. Culbertson, choir director, sometime later this week, to pick-up your polo shirt.  This is standard performance attire for middle school bands.  The class begins at 8:16 AM so virtually-taught students should arrive by 8:00 AM to get ready and find their seats on stage.

2nd Period - 7th Grade Band.  (Please arrive at school in your red music polos and either black or khaki slacks or skirt).  The class begins at 9:00 AM so you should arrive no later than 8:50 AM so you can get ready and sign in.

Periods 8 & 9 - Combined 8th Grade and High School Bands.  The class begins at 1:25 PM so virtual students should arrive no later than 1:20 PM - enter through the double backstage doors from the parking lot (by the band trailer), sign-in and take their 4' distanced seats.  Masks must remain up until the  horns-up command AND masks must go right back up whenever a musician is experiencing extended "rests", whenever the director is working with another section or in between selections.  Band members do not need to dress-up BUT should wear something nicer than what they'd ordinarily wear to school; i.e.- no t shirts, torn jeans, etc...  The band will rehearse during 8th period and record during 9th period.

3:30 PM - High School Jazz Band.  Please arrive by 3:15 PM to warm-up and find your spots.  Things will be set-up a bit differently.  Jazz band will wear the same attire as concert band!  If you have a game, scrimmage or practice, please speak to your coach about being a little late.  This concert is mandatory!!

Finally... as we get closer to the season, let us wish you happy holidays!  It's been a challenging year so far and we want to continue to stay safe.  Please know that we directors are doing all we can to keep things healthy while continuing to provide your children with an outstanding music education!

God Bless!
