Weekly Update: 9/2 - 9/6/2019

Music Department Update...

#1  Super 1st - night - out Marching Band.  We couldn't have asked for more!  Great job.  Keep it up.

#2  This weeks band dinner is on your own.  We had not set up a schedule yet and didn't want to burden and inconvenience parents with a last minute 3 day notice.  Next Friday it will be the flutes and clarinets turn to provide dinner!  Sorry for any communication mix-up!!

#3  Marching Band Practices this week are:

         Wednesday, Sept. 4th (3:20 - 5:30 (Practice will end at 5 PM for those students wishing to  attend the viewing)

         Friday, Sept. 6th  (3:20 - 4:30Dinner will be on your own this week!  Bring a packed dinner, parents can bring dinner or you can eat dinner at home after practice.  Next week the flutes and clarinets will get together to provide dinner!

#4     Band Photo Re-takes:  Will be done next Wednesday, September 11th immediately following band practice at 5:30 PM.  Please let Mr. D. know if you will be getting your picture taken. EXTRA ORDERING MATERIALS ARE IN THE BAND ROOM!

#5  A big THANK YOU goes out to all the volunteers who helped paint the Music Department Snack Shack!  It looks super!!!

#6  Band Festival Schedule change...  We have decided to pull the September 21st Pickerington North Show and replace it with the October 19th Utica Band show.  This show is also in the evening!



NOTE #1:  ALL MARCHING BAND MEMBERS MUST ABSOLUTELY BE PREPARED FOR PRACTICE!  This means:  1) Instrument  2)  Drill in binder   3)  Dots 

NOTE #2:  ALL absences other than personal illness or athletic competitions MUST be communicated through the EXCUSED ABSENCE FORM at least one (1) week prior to the absence.  Absences should be emergent or unavoidable in nature.  Last minute communications ( a day before or the day of) regarding a student absence will not be accepted.  Thanks!

#3  Middle School GOOGLE CLASSROOM Assignments will begin this week!  Please be sure your child is bringing home their instrument on a daily basis and preparing their lessons!
