Marching Band Info. AND Middle School Band Info!

#1 Middle Schoolers... You will NOT need your instruments for the first day of school! As a matter of fact, please do not bring them. We'll let you know exactly what to do when we see you! Relax 6th graders.... Band is a blast!
#2 Thank you to all the high school band members who came in to have their individual band portraits taken today. We realize there were some who did not make it due to vacations, camps, etc... and there will be a re-take time posted shortly! If you didn't have the payment upfront today Mr. Ellis usually allows a couple weeks to turn it in! Don't forget... Even if you're not purchasing a portrait package, you STILL NEED TO HAVE YOUR INDIVIDUAL PICTURE TAKEN because it's used in the band room composite that will hang on the wall AND goes into all the football programs and festival/competition programs!
#3 Marching Band Practice for the 1st week of school is on Monday, Aug. 12th and Tuesday, Aug. 13th and is from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on the new track field! The fall-season practice schedule begins on Monday, August 19th. Please refer to the marching band schedule located in the back portion of this year's marching band handbook. A physical (paper) copy had been mailed home back in June, and an online copy can be found right on the Centerburg Music Blog website. Simply click in the icon in the upper left and click on "marching band handbook"!
#4 Uniforms and marching shoes...
a) Uniforms are going out for cleaning either the end of next week or the beginning of the following. Please be sure everything is out of the pockets by the 1st day of school!
b) Last Spring we found "at least" ten (10) pair of stray marching shoes (many of them new!) PLEASE be sure you know where your marching band shoes are and take them home to be shined! The ones we found are currently on the counter in the band room - PUT YOUR NAMES IN THEM!
c) New marching band shoes will be ordered early next week - once the requisition is approved by the business office.
Get psyched everybody. It's gonna be a super year!
