Announcement Update...

Announcements     (Last one 'till New Years!)

Attention Parents of 7th & 8th Graders...
Just a "heads-up" regarding our Spring performance evaluation trip.  The trip is a one day event on Saturday, May 18th, 2018.  We will be spending the day at Kings Island Amusement Park, but will  be performing at an area high school or college beforehand.  We usually leave around 7 AM and return around 10 PM, and the cost per student hovers right around $50-$60 pp. and includes the year's music t-shirt that we will be wearing to perform as well as in the park so our kids are easy to "spot".  More information will be sent home after the new year!

Attention High School Band Students...
January 19th marks the date of this year's Ohio Wesleyan University High School Honor Band.  Students will be attending from Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, New York and Pennsylvania!  NO AUDITIONS!  Obviously any student participating is going to be a relatively advanced player in their high school and really in to their instrument.  The fee is $25 pp.  See Mr. Dettmar about how to register.  He'll be there ( at the college ) for an all-day band director workshop and will be at the concert at 7 PM that evening!

Athletic Pep Band
Pep Band will begin to play at some home basketball games right after we return from the holiday break!  You'll find the schedule right here on the blog toward the end of break, so stop back and check it out.  Students will be asked to confirm their participation at a game 1 week prior.

High School Marching Band Survey / Questionnaire Results...
Thank you all for taking the time during class to answer some questions pertaining to marching band!  I have read every word of every questionnaire and was really pleasantly enlightened by some very good, helpful comments and ideas!  I asked you to be honest and.......you were!  We (the band staff) have been reviewing and talking about our "teaching and directing ways" and "our goals for the band" and have been putting together a user-friendly marching band handbook (both online and in hard copy) that you can refer to beginning in early Spring.  While we'll always be the same TPMB, we think you'll be delighted to see some very positive changes ( including some creative scheduling, changes in policies and new activities, not to mention a much more self-disciplined, section-friendly-approach to marching band ) to our ever-changing band program for next season.  You can all say you were a part of it!  Hope to see you all back next season!  Again, thanks for your input.
