Announcements Week of November 13th -17th, 2023

 Thanks for a great over night trip Section Leaders!   This past Friday some of the marching band student leaders traveled to Indianapolis for a short overnight trip to the Bands of America Grand National Championships at the Lucas Oil Stadium.   The band members also took part in the BOA Leadership Blast at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where they participated in 2 separate leadership sessions.  The trip was open to all 11th and 12th grade band members, drum majors and section leaders, and we watched quite a few great marching bands, learned a lot, and have a ton to show everybody as we go in to next season!  Again, thanks for a super time!

Music for All Summer Music Symposium registration is now open!  Please go to the CHS Marching Band portion of the music website and click on the link to this outstanding venue for all band members and register for the 2024 Summer Symposium now!  Students may choose from either the drum major academy, marching band academy, drumline academy or color guard academy.  These are all part of the same camp at Ball State University.  Mr. D. has gone for the past two years as have 2 of our other section leaders and drum majors, and find it an absolutely life-changing experience!  See Mr. D. for details!

2023 Marching Band Banquet:  is slated for Sunday, December 3rd at 3 PM in the CHS Cafeteria.  All marching band members have been given an envelope with their name on it and have been asked to bring it home to their folks. ( a few are still on Mr. D's desk because students were absent ) Registration forms, orders and payments (check or money order only) are due by this coming Friday, November 17th.

Monday:  HS Jazz Band 7:00 - 8:30

Tuesday: No after school lessons today!

Wednesday:  No after school lessons today!

Thursday:  No after school percussion or lessons today (see you all on December 7th)

Thursday evening:  Mr. D''s MVNU college jazz ensemble will be performing a free concert in the Thorne Recital Hall in the MVNU Chapel at 7:30 PM.  All are welcome!

Friday:  Afternoon and evening Buckeye candy making (cafeteria)
