Announcements and Schedules: Feb. 24th -28th

 This week in music...

*  Please remember that the 2025 Marching Band Registration will remain live on the music website until March 4th.  After that time it will be removed and the registration closed.  Remember to register.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL MARCHING BAND FAMILIES:  While the 2025 Band Camp and Football Game Schedule has been posted on the marching band section of the music website for some time now, we have not yet determined the dates of any marching band festivals and/or competitions, most of which take place on Saturday evenings in September and October.  This is because the dates are not yet available. We should have the fall season calendar updated within a week or so, but in the meantime you may want to hold-off on scheduling family outings and vacations during the fall until that time.  We'll post the complete fall schedule as soon as possible.  Thanks for your patience!!👍

* All band members participating in the Universal Trip in March must attend 2 full evening rehearsals prior to our departure. This is mainly because our performing group will be a slightly different band as some band members will not be joining us, and about 4 others who attend the career center are not in band class during the school day so they have not been able to practice with us.  The 2 rehearsals will go from 7:00 - 8:15 PM on Wed., March 12th and Wed., March 19th

* Attention Career Center Band Members:  We have been practicing the music for Universal in class for the past month or so, and I hope you have stopped in to the band room to get your copies of the music and have been listening to and practicing them!  Please let Mr. D. know if you would like to meet after school for extra help so you are ready for the upcoming Wednesday evening practices. You'll need to attend the 2 Wednesday evening practices (above).

* 2025 Marching Band Spring Training for brass and woodwinds...will begin on Tuesday, April 1st and will continue through the end of the school year.  Practices will go from 7:00 - 8:30 PM and will include training in basics, visuals, sectionals and Full Ensemble music, as well as touch on and give instruction in stretches and various exercises to get you in shape for the field.

This week:

Monday:

3:15 - 4:15 PM:  Middle School Jazz Band 1st practice.  If you are signed-up or have spoken to Mr. D. about participating then you are expected to attend!  See ya there!

7:00 - 8:30 PM:  HS Jazz Ensemble

Thursday:

3:15 - 4:15:  1st Meeting and Practice of the 2025 Marching Band Drum Line and Front Ensemble.  Attendance is mandatory!   "IF" you have a previously scheduled athletic practice then at least come to the percussion practice first to speak with the instructors concerning your schedule as we will be having a meeting right at 3:15 in order to see which day of the week is best for all of us to be at percussion practice.  If you're not there then we can't work with you.  See ya then!

3:15 - 4:00 PM:  1st meeting of all prospective drum major candidates.  Even if you have not told Mr. D. you are interested you may stop in to see if it's for you!
