Week of May 1st - 5th Announcements
This Week: May 1st - 5th + other announcements...
ATTENTION: 👀
The 2023-24 ONLINE Marching Band Registration has been open now for 2 weeks and we only have 38 band members registered! That's less than half of the band. Please remember that the online REGISTRATION FORM and DRYCLEANING, SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT FORM closes at 11:59 PM on Monday, May 1st (That's tomorrow). PLEASE complete the 2 online forms by that time as we need to get music together, make plans and place orders by the last day of school! If you have any questions you can contact Chuck Dettmar in the band office! The forms are located on the Centerburg Music Website...
REGISTRATION DIRECTIONS: Simply search for CENTERBURG MUSIC, click on INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC and then go to MARCHING BAND... scroll down to where you'll see the forms! 😀 Just fill them out and hit "SUBMIT"!
Monday: 2023-24 Marching Band Brass and Woodwind Sectionals 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Thursday: 2023-24 Drum Line and Pit Percussion Get-together, meeting and part assignments/practice session. Students who are absent will not receive part (instrument) assignments or be included on the marching percussion roster, so please be sure you are present if you are planning on being a part of next seasons marching band percussion section). NOTE: We only need to state it that way because although so many students are always in attendance and actively engaged, we have had an attendance issue this season so far, and need to remedy that right now. These are pre-season, spring training and conditioning practices and are mandatory... just like any other school activity or sport. Thanks for your anticipated cooperation!!
Friday: Color Guard Practice 3:00 - 5:00 PM. New and interested students in current grades 7-11 are welcome to attend!
ATTENTION: Mr. D. is putting together the rosters for his jazz bands next year! If you are a high school band member [or a current 8th grader entering their freshman year] and would like to be in jazz band next year please see Mr. D. for course approval and then let Mrs. Ballenger aware that you want to elect jazz band. It is a credited, graded course and you must be registered through guidance in order to participate.
Along those same lines... Mr. D. is also putting together next semester's MVNU Jazz Band. If you feel that you are a more serious player, are relatively advanced and are willing to take some lessons to get even better please see Mr. D. There are a few spots open, and if college students do not fill them there may be the possibility of you participating in that level band. Just speak to Mr. D about it. This is open to Juniors and Seniors only.
