ATTENTION: 👀 The 2023-24  ONLINE  Marching Band Registration has been open now for 2 weeks and we only have 38 band members registered!  That's less than half of the band.  Please remember that the online REGISTRATION FORM and DRYCLEANING, SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT FORM closes at 11:59 PM on Monday, May 1st (That's tomorrow).  PLEASE complete the 2  online forms by that time as we need to get music together, make plans and place orders by the last day of school!  If you have any questions you can contact Chuck Dettmar in the band office!  The forms are located on the Centerburg Music Website... This Week... April 24th - 28th Monday:  2023-24 Marching Band Brass & Woodwinds - 6:30 - 8:00 PM (ALL students who will be participating in next season's marching band are required to attend.  New music will be distributed, and we'll begin working on it! Thursday:  2023-24 Marching Band Drum Line and Pit Percussion - 6:00 - 8:00 PM  (ALL students who will be participating in next season's marching band are required to attend.  This is the first rehearsal of the new music.  If you are not in attendance you may not get the part you want!!!   The 2023-24 Marching Band Registration AND Drycleaning, Supplies and Equipment forms are now live on the marching band section of the Centerburg Music Website.  All members will need to complete and submit the forms electronically By May 1st! Jazz Workshop with Joe Holt Any and all interested CHS High School Band members are invited to a jazz improvisation workshop with renowned jazz musician Joe Holt in the Neese Rehearsal Hall in the MVNU Chapel tomorrow evening, April 20th beginning at 8 PM!  He'll be working with and critiquing Mr. D's college jazz band, and then will turn to both vocal and instrumental solos within the band and "how" to solo over chord changes.

  A big Thank You goes out to the CHS Jazz Band, all the student helpers, music faculty and the music boosters for making the jazz festival this past Friday evening a super success!  As usual, everyone seemed to have a nice time and the groups sounded great! 👍 We are asking all returning marching band members AND current seniors to please bring in $3 for for this Monday evening's marching band pizza party / band practice.  The $3 was due by last Friday so we'd appreciate it first thing Monday morning if you've not yet donated.  Thanks! 😊 Just a couple notes:    Just so we're all on the same page and have an understanding of what is expected...! 1) "IF" you are signed-up as a member of next season's marching band you must attend the pre-season conditioning sessions.  That was made clear before spring break.  If you can't make time for these classes/rehearsals then please tell me and I'll take you off the band list.  The practices can all be fo

  Lots going on... ( We need $3 for pizza from all   current marching band members by this Friday!!!) * wrapping up the school year and preparing for next season's marching band...! This week's schedule :  April 10th - 14th Monday:  Jazz band from 7 - 8:30 PM (on stage) Thursday:  Drum line and pit percussion from 6-8 PM (new marching show music...be sure to be there!!) Friday:   Centerburg Invitational Jazz Festival (from 4:30-10:00 PM)  Centerburg jazz performs "around" 7:30 PM, but times are only general and may change! Friday:  First Color Guard Newbie Meeting and Introductory Practice for new and returning members from 3-5 PM  (Choral Room).  Any and all guard members or new recruits planning on partcipating next season are required to attend!  No exceptions !!!
