Marching Band Camp Dates!!!
Hellooooooooooo! Marching Band 2020!
I've been getting some calls and e-mails asking about dates for marching band camp. Well... they've been posted since February and you can see them by simply clicking on "Marching Band 2020" right here on the music blog! But, I'll go ahead and give a basic outline below...
Marching Band Mini Camp: The week of July 27th ⇨31st.
(Not everybody comes all the time so please check the actual schedule)
Marching Band Camp: The week of August 3rd ⇨ 7th.
(Participation at camp is mandatory and those students involved in athletics should submit the schedule they will be following during the week of band camp to the directors "before" camp begins!)
Some changes since our last blog communication:
1) The percussion pit (front ensemble), drum line and guard and their directors/instructors have all expressed an interest in beginning to hold some once-a-week evening practices at the school. These will (if approved) begin sometime after June 15th. Because COVID-19 is still here these evening practices cannot and will not be mandatory!! We want to be sure that both parents and band members alike are "comfortable" being around others and in this type of arena! Mainly outdoors!
2) If and when these practices begin we will need to [obviously] keep 6 ft. distances and wear protective masks at all times. Students and directors/instructors will need to adhere to the guidelines for school athletics (including band) set forth by the Knox County Health Department at all times.
3) Below please find this year's drumline part assignments! "IF" you would like to take home a drum at this time to practice just let Mr. D. know in an e-mail and he'll set it up, yo!
Snare: Riley, Kyle, Colin & Alex
Quints: Maggie (Drum Line Captain / Section Lead)
Basses: Alessandra, Jacob, Trevor, Mason, Carson (actual size drum assignments still TBA)
