Great First Practice... BUT...
Hey Everybody!
The drumline, colorguard and pit had their first sectional last Monday night and did a super job! If you're in town make sure you attend this week's Guard & Percussion practice too! Monday, June 29th at 6 PM.
PLEASE... Be sure to social distance!!! I observed some of you getting rather close at last week's practice and had to say something. It's really important to protect yourself and others!! EACH WEEK YOU MUST FIND YOUR INSTRUCTOR, SIGN-IN AND ANSWER THE HEALTH QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU'RE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE!
ATTENTION. ALL PARENTS OF MARCHING BAND MEMBERS...
If you're like me you're concerned for your kids and yourselves as the COVID-19 numbers escalate in Ohio. Luckily, in Knox County there are currently only 4 active cases! But, as I told one parent just today... please don't make any decisions yet based on what's happening! Band Camp is over a month away and school is 2 months away. So much could change between now and then! As an update... I was just contacted by the director of the Knox County Health Department who stated that "at this point there are no parameters set in place for marching bands. Only athletics". The only thing we are permitted to do is hold once a week practices of 10 students or less - all of which are 6' apart. I am waiting for an update from her and the superintendent concerning actual band camp rules, and I'll post information as soon as I receive it!
Finally... As you've heard there will be no Cedar Point Marching Band Trip this year! The only reason why it (and other things) are still on the calendar is because we've basically been given no guidance or information about what July and August hold in stock for us! Sorry 'bout that. We'll hit it next year for sure! 😎
