Weekly Update - 11/ 14 - 11/18/ 2016
This Week: Nov. 14th - 18th
Jazz Band: Monday and Wednesday 3:00-3:45 PM
High School Concert Band: Replace "Home Alone Christmas" with "The Polar Express" in your folders. Percussion players please check the updated percussion assignments and be sure all parts are being performed each day.
6th Grade Band Weekly Assignment: Exercises # 77 (La Bamba) and # 78 ( Skill Builder ) - due by Friday. Until we get our new "Google Classroom" site up and running you may either play your example "live" for me on Thursday or record yourself on either your computer or i-phone and e-mail it to me (chuck.dettmar@centerburgschgools.org) We should be good to go with Google Classroom for next week's assignment!
Pep Band: We are just waiting for the AD to let us know at which games they'd like the band at. Will let you know ASAP!
High School & Middle School OMEA District 10 Honor Band Members: Please do not forget the first rehearsal at Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, November 29th from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
Buckeye Candies: There are currently "tons" of buckeyes ready for pick-up and distribution in both the band and choir rooms. Please take yours home and pass them out today!
Concerts: The Holiday Concerts are coming-up. Please be sure you are aware of the dates and the proper attire. All information is on the Centerburg Music Blog and in the Music Department Handbook! If you have any questions or concerns please let us know. For all of our new students and parents, please be aware that concerts are worth a 100 point grade and students are required to participate. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Holiday Concert Bake Sales: We ( the music teachers and music booster association ) have decided that we'd only go with one "big" bake sale each year, thus the "Holiday Concert Bake Sales". We'd appreciate it if every student would bring in one baked good for sale during their concert. Baked goods may be delivered to either the band or choir rooms the day of the scheduled concert, or may be brought directly to the bake sale tables as they arrive for warm-up before the concert. Either way it helps us to raise the funds we need to give the music students items they need during the school year.
