Centerburg Alumni and Community Choir

Calling All Centerburg High School Choir Alumni and Choir Family!

The Centerburg Concert Choir would like to extend an invitation to all choir alumni and community members who have a tie to our music program, to participate in the second Centerburg High School Alumni Choir Festival on October 1, 2016.  I'm thrilled to think that I might connect with many dear alumni with whom I've worked, and I’m excited to meet people who helped to establish our current tradition of excellence. Once students leave Centerburg, I often lose track of them. I am looking for people who wish to collaborate with me and others to publicize this event. I will need help reaching out to alumni who were in choir before I began teaching. I would like to get as many involved as we can.

We are looking for not only alumni, but community members who have a tie to our choir to perform as well. If you know of any alumni who you think would like to be involved, can you pass this flyer along to them? Also, if you yourself are a vocalist or just enjoy singing, we would love to have you join us as well. Maybe you were in choir when you were in school and haven't had an opportunity to sing since then. This is your chance. If you're not a singer I would encourage you to support the choir by coming to the concert that afternoon at 3:00 in the auditorium. 

Those interested in singing with the alumni choir should email Stasi Culbertson at stasi.culbertson@centerburgschools.org or call (740)625-6055 x2186 by September 23 to confirm participation. Stasi will divide singers into parts and confirm repertoire based on the number of singers, so confirmation of attendance by the appropriate date is of key importance.

This will be an all day event of rehearsal with the concert choir where we will prepare the repertoire and then have a performance in the afternoon. We will meet for rehearsals  beginning at 9:00am and perform the concert at 3:00pm. Repertoire and rehearsal tracks will be made available through the Centerburg Music Blog. ( centerburgmusic.blogspot.com ) Also, if you email Mrs. Culbertson she will share the files with you. Please plan to prepare some on your own before arriving since rehearsal time that day will be limited.

We will have a break for lunch and also some time before the concert to change into concert attire. The school choir will be wearing their black formal uniforms for the performance.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to sing together, visit with one another, and celebrate the tradition of choral excellence at Centerburg High School.  Even if you do not wish to participate, plan on coming to support the choir and hear some wonderful must from voices young and old. Gather up some choir buddies and get ready to sing!
