  Announcement:   If you are parents who will be driving out to watch the parade in NYC and staying at the hotel with the band it may not be wise to try to drive in to the city to watch the Parade!!  See below: The Morris Plains Train Station (NJ Transit) is 11 minutes from the hotel, and for $15 pp. will take you "non-stop" into New York's Penn Station.  From there just hail a cab uptown a few blocks to the parade.  The train station is on 34th st. and the band steps-off on W. 47th St. so it's a short cab ride.  I can give you help if you need it!  Just let me know!  You'll be driving in during rush hour (not for the faint-hearted) and it will cost you $12+ just to go through the Lincoln Tunnel, not to mention the tolls on the Garden State Parkway... then there's actually finding a parking garage ($30+)... ( you won't find any on-street parking) and you'll still need to take a cab!  The train is the way to go.   Uber is still gonna ...

  Schedule, Announcements and Upcoming Dates... Congratulations to all our choral students for a super job in this past Saturday's Concert Congratulations to all the band students who participated in this past weekend's OWU (Ohio Wesleyan University) Honor Band. This Week: NO JAZZ BAND MONDAY! Thursday:  Mandatory Drum Line and Pit Percussion Practice 6-8 PM  (This is the last practice before we need to march outside on Friday after school!!!) Friday:   Parade Practice 3:05 - 4:30  (first inside then outside) The next few Friday parade practices are a must and all members must attend.  Coaches and the AD are in agreement and have been notified! Friday:  Trip Chaperone Meeting :  6:00 PM Band Room Friday:  Trip Meeting for student participants and their parents:   7 PM  Auditorium.  Please sign-in!  Students will also need to fill-out meal choice cards at the meeting for our dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner.  Ple...

Congratulations to all of our music students who participated in this year's OMEA Solo and Ensemble Adjudication Performances at Granville HS!  Super job everybody !!! Upcoming Events  (PLEASE mark your calendars)... Friday, Feb. 24th   at 7:00 PM   St. Patrick's Day Weekend Trip Parent/Student Meeting  for all student participants and their parents.    ALL chaperones are asked to please attend as there will be a chaperone meeting from 6:00-7:00 PM prior to the Trip meeting. IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL TRIP PARTICIPANTS:    We truly apologize for any inconvenience, but unfortunately we will need to collect $10 extra from everyone!  We had some unexpected/overlooked taxes and gratuities and well... we're a bit short .  You can turn-in the $10 at the trip meeting on the 24th of April at 7 PM . OR put give it to either Mr. D. or Mrs. Culbertson. (Please be sure your child's name is on it, especially if it's cash in an envelope). ...

  Announcements:  Jan. 23rd - 28th Thank you to everyone who helped in this past weekend's Music Department Mattress Fundraiser! 1.  HS Jazz will meet tonight (Monday) from 7:00-8:30 PM ( CANCELED - SNOW DAY) 2.  Drumline and Pit Percussion Practice will be this Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM. 3.  Final Solo and Ensemble coaching for all students participating in this coming Saturday's OMEA Solo/Ensemble Adjudication at Granville HS will be at 3 PM this Friday.  PLEASE turn in your permission slips!

No school/ No Jazz Band Tuesday:  Teacher PD Day/No classes or practices Wednesday:  Big Basketball Game!  We need the entire marching band present! 🏀 Thursday:  Drum Line and Pit Practice 6-8 PM (Mantatory if attending the trip)!   Big Game Tonight ...   Friday, Jan. 13th!       🏀 We "really need" ALL marching band members at tonight's boys basketball game!  Please report to the band room at 6:30 PM with your flip book for a quick run-through... then we'll take the floor!  Really important we all show up and do our stuff! 🏀

 Reminders: 1.  ALL payments for the St.Patrick's Weekend trip should now have been received by the band office.  If you have not yet turned yours in please do so today (Monday). 2.  Attention:  All band members attending the OWU Honor Band on Feb. 17-18 should have had their parents complete the Parent Confirmation Form by last Friday.   The e-mail was sent to all parents from Dr. Edwards back in mid December. 3.  Beginning in February the marching band will hold after school / evening parade practices in preparation for the NYC trip.  Music must be memorized.  We will let you know when the practices will be by the end of this week. 4.  OMEA Solo and Ensemble Adjudications at Granville HS are scheduled for Sat., Jan. 28th .  Bus transportation is provided and parents and families are invited to attend all performances.
