 End of January Update: High School Bands : 1   Jazz band will continue to meet on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM. 2)  Indoor Winter Color Guard will continue to meet on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-5:00 PM.  TRY-OUTS FOR NEXT YEAR'S MARCHING BAND COLORGUARD WILL BE AT THE END OF FEBRUARY SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THAT YOU MUST START ATTENDING THE MONDAY AND THURSDAY PRACTICES! 3)  Spring Training for next season's marching band drumline will begin on Thursday, February 25th at 6 PM in the band room.   ANY and ALL   drummers in current grades 8 through 11 should attend.  "IF" you have a schedule conflict due to a game or scrimmage please let Mr. D. know beforehand.  (THIS IS NOT A PIT REHEARSAL.  ONLY DRUMLINE) Middle School Bands : 1)  Parents should know that band students are responsible for completing and recording their musical examples on Smartmusic every week and a half or so.  Assign...

 This week... Jazz Band :  Will meet tonight (monday) from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Indoor Winter Color Guard :  Will meet tonight (Monday) and Thursday after school from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. (PLEASE TURN-IN YOUR GLOVE PAYMENT IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO!) Middle School band assignments are posted on Smartmusic and are a good portion of students' grades Marching Band:  Please start thinking about next year.  We are in the process of putting together next seasons band roster! Indoor Drum Line:  Will be starting soon!  We'll keep you posted.

 Happy New Year! Here's this weeks schedule... (Jan. 4th - 8th) Jazz Band:  Will resume Monday evening practices tomorrow (Jan. 4th) from 7:00-8:30 PM. Indoor Winter Color Guard:   Will resume Monday and Thursday after-school practices from 3-5 PM starting tomorrow, Jan. 4th. After school and evening music lessons will NOT meet this week, but will resume next week (Jan. 11th).  Please be sure to sign-up for a new time as the options have changed.

  A plea from Mr. D!  Bravo!!!   to all the bands and choirs who recorded their virtual concerts on Monday and Tuesday!  We couldn't be prouder of you guys for being so understanding and patient, and for continuing to forge ahead on your instruments... putting the Centerburg Music Department on the map again and again!!! Recordings...  Are currently being professionally  edited and mixed.  We will let everyone know when they'll be available for viewing.  NOTE :  To get the full effect use a high quality sound system or a good pair of headphones.  This was professionally recorded just like a CD!  Yeah!!!   Band  Instrument Cover Update... Originally we were going to ask parents to send-in payments for the instrument COVID covers because they were going to be $19 per mask, but since then we found them for $5-$6 per cover and the school has offered to try to purchase them for us!  No payments from home are needed!  Sorry for any confusion!

Hello all wonderful band members and their families.   Happy Holidays!!!               Instrument Covers! Beginning in January it will be a requirement of each and every band member to use an instrument " bell cover " to minimize the level of aerosol produced by playing an instrument.  These literally cut the aerosol (amount of humidity and droplets) coming out of the instrument by up to 80%!!  Students will need to be equipped with their bell covers at all times.  Unfortunately, there is nothing for flutes, as the physics of playing the flute do not lend themself to wearing a mask or bell cover. We are working with Rettig Music in Dublin to contract the best price possible price, and right now we're right around $5.50 - $7.00.  A flyer will go home with your son or daughter early next week (right after the concert recordings are done) and we really ask for you to return your payment to the band office by the due dat...
