End of January Update:
High School Bands:
1 Jazz band will continue to meet on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM.
2) Indoor Winter Color Guard will continue to meet on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-5:00 PM. TRY-OUTS FOR NEXT YEAR'S MARCHING BAND COLORGUARD WILL BE AT THE END OF FEBRUARY SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THAT YOU MUST START ATTENDING THE MONDAY AND THURSDAY PRACTICES!
3) Spring Training for next season's marching band drumline will begin on Thursday, February 25th at 6 PM in the band room. ANY and ALL drummers in current grades 8 through 11 should attend. "IF" you have a schedule conflict due to a game or scrimmage please let Mr. D. know beforehand. (THIS IS NOT A PIT REHEARSAL. ONLY DRUMLINE)
Middle School Bands:
1) Parents should know that band students are responsible for completing and recording their musical examples on Smartmusic every week and a half or so. Assignments are given on Google Classroom, posted on Smartmusic AND gone over and/or practiced during band classes or during individual after-school and evening music lessons. These examples will determine about 1/3 of the band member's grade.
2) Upcoming Instrument case and supply/equipment check "TEST": On Friday, February 6th all middle school students will have a test to determine whether or not they have the right supplies and materials AND that their name is on their instrument case and stick bag (preferably with a suitcase tag or the like. Exact guidelines are posted on the bandroom whiteboard, and will be posted as an announcement on the students' Google Classroom over the weekend.
