Happy New Year!   Let's jump right in...

This week:

Wednesday and Friday:  3:00-4:00 PM...."volunteer" Solo coaching for any band members who are preparing solos or ensembles for the upcoming January 20th OMEA Solo/Ensemble Adjudication at Granville HS.  Mr. D. is here to help you so try to make time if need be.  Time's running short and your performance is right around the corner!

Thursday:  3:00-4:45 PM - Indoor Percussion & middle school advanced percussion

Saturday, Jan. 6th:  2024 online Marching Band Registration & Dry cleaning/Supply order forms go live and will remain so until Jan. 30th.    These can be found on the marching band section of the Centerburg Music Website.  ALL band members hoping to participate next season will need to complete these forms BY Jan. 30th.

Announcements:

*  Saturday, Jan. 20th:  OMEA Solo/Ensemble Adjudication at Granville HS.  Transportation provided and parents and families are encouraged to attend.

*  OMEA Soloists should turn-in their $21 entrance fee by Friday, Jan. 12th.  Checks should be made payable to the Centerburg Music Boosters. 

*  The annual Music Department Mattress Fundraiser will be held on January 27th in the CHS Auditorium.  Please come and support the music students and their future endeavors! 

*  All students who have been accepted thus far into the Ohio Wesleyan University Honor Bands "should" have received an e-mail from Dr, Edwards regarding the registration and chair-placement process.  Bus transportation from CHS to the university will be provided to and from on Friday, Feb. 16th, and to the university on Sat., Feb. 17th.  Parents will be responsible for bringing their child home after the concert.

*  Marching Band Student Leaders & Officers:  Have made their intentions heard.  Training and interviews/auditions will be announced this coming week.  As usual, we recommend all student leaders to attend the Music for All Leadership Weekend and/or marching band and drum major academies at Ball State University at the end of June.  Information may be found online by searching "Music for All Summer Music Symposium".

*  Pep Band for basketball games will be announced each and every week.  All marching band members should be willing to participate in at least 2 games.  We'll try to provide pizza and soda at these events. Weekly sign-ups will be on the white board every Monday.
