Marching Band Update: "PARTICIPATION" - We just wanted to clear-up any misnomers concerning participation in marching band... If a student elects the course "High School Band" then they are electing to participate in all band activities. In the fall, that means marching band. We do, however, attempt to work with all our students so they are able to remain a part of the music department. Everyone is different and we respect that. Sometimes this means sitting with students and parents on an individual basis in order to work out schedules. Sometimes it works and sometimes there are such extenuating circumstances that we need to get creative with scheduling, being realistic about what a particular student is able to accomplish. For all intents and purposes though, all students in band class are to be marching in the fall. Thanks! It's gonna be a super year!!
Columbus Day Parade Trip Registration: Is open until May 15th. No payments are needed to register!!! Let's do it!! ( Just 5 days left!)
"NEW" Music Electives!!! CHS is offering 2 new music electives in instrumental music for the 2019-20 school year! The first is the newly-formed "Centerburg HS Symphonic Winds", a select group of advanced band students, and "Instrumental Techniques", a half year class consisting of a combination of supervised practiced time, technical and pedagogical instruction, help with band music and coaching for honor band auditions and OMEA Solo and Ensemble Adjudications. See Mr. Parpart ASAP so you get it on your schedule for next fall!
