Band Camp / Fall Schedule (update)
Hey gang!
Hope you're all having a super summer so far.
Just want to share a few tidbits of information with you as we look forward to our band camp that begins next MONDAY!
#1 ALL band members' Supply and Equipment AND Cedar Point payments were due by Saturday, June 25th. If you still owe we'd appreciate your taking care of it in a timely manner.
#2 Reminders of what to bring to camp:
* Water bottle (refillable)
* Instrument lyre (if you need one) for your instrument.
* Highlighter (to mark your music and drill)
* Pencil (better than a pen, 'cause you'll probably need to erase or change things)
* Sun block
* Good, supportive sneakers or tennis shoes. Nobody marches with sandals, flip-flops, etc...
* A hat or visor
* Three (3) ring binder - complete with plastic sleeves in which to place your music and drill.
#3 Lunch Time Rules:
* If you are an upperclassman with a car, you may go out (or home) to eat lunch as long as the staff has received "written permission" from your parents AHEAD OF TIME. You may NOT, however, bring ANY other students with you in your car whether they are an upperclassman or not. Students, while engaged in a school activity, are the responsibility of the teacher(s) in charge, and we cannot allow students to simply jump in other student's cars and go out. Thanks for your cooperation!
* All other students will need to pack a lunch and remain on school grounds during the 12:00 - 1:00 or 3:30 - 4:00 break. STUDENTS ARE NOT TO GO OUT TO BUY LUNCH UNLESS TAKEN THERE BY A PARENT. While we realize this has never been asked of you before, we feel it's only a matter of time before something happens, and we as teachers are concerned about that.
#4 The band camp and fall schedules are being posted on the music facebook page. These were mailed to you in early July, but we'll post them here as well!
#5 Finally, If you are a student who has responsibilities at the Hartford Fair please shoot Mr. D. an e-mail letting him know "exactly" what hours of band camp you'll need to be excused. This only includes students who are showing, or are involved in a fair-oriented activity, not going to a show, the rides, etc... Please do not ask to be excused for those reasons. Thanks!
