Congratulations & Thank You!

Thank You! For attending last evening's Music Booster Spaghetti Dinner and Honors Recital ! It was a great success because of your support! Thank You! To the Music Booster Officers  for all their hard work and dedication in putting together the Dinner! Your hard work does not go unnoticed!!! Finally Congratulations! to all of our wonderful student performers. Good Luck at OMEA this Saturday!!! Go Trojans!

Weekly Update:  January 23rd, 2017 Top News of The Day... The " Music Booster Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser" is slated for this Thursday, Jan. 26th from 6:00-8:00 PM .  Come one, come all!  Enjoy some wonderful food and be entertained by some of our talented students.  The cost is only $5 per person and includes, spaghetti, meatballs, salad, breadsticks and drinks.  Homemade doughnuts are also available for an additional charge.   All funds collected go to support the Centerburg Music Program!  See you there! 6th Grade Band:  Students are responsible for practicing their method book exercises each and every week and either recording them onto Google Classroom or performing them live each week.  Each exercise is worth 10 points, and is weighted the same as one week's worth of class participation. 7th and 8th Grade Bands:  Students, in addition to working diligently on their band music, need to check in with Google Classroom on a bi-weekly basis to see what exerci

Announcements - Week of January 9th, 2016 6th Grade Band:   The next playing example will be due on Google Classroom by Friday, January 20th .  This is the first week of the second semester.  The example is #84 in your method book. 7th and 8th Grade Bands:  Please start talking to your parents about your electives for next year.  We would very much like to see you join us in the high school band!  Mr. Parpart will be calling you down soon to sit with you to discuss your options. High School Band:   ALL playing test examples are absolutely DUE by the end of the day today (Monday, January 9th).  Chair placements need to be determined and OMEA Festival Music begun! Also, please begin to think about your participation in band next year.  In a week or so you will be asked to let us (the band staff) know whether you'll be joining us next season! Fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner:  The spaghetti dinner is slated for Thursday, January 26th, and will be held in the school cafeteria

Weekly Update 1/3/2016

Happy New Year !      Well, here we are in 2017, and we're jumping in with our feet running!  Please remember to check both the Music Department Blog AND Facebook each week so you are kept up to date with what is happening in the music department. Please read below! 6th Grade band :  There will be no more performance examples due until next marking period.  That doesn't mean you shouldn't practice, though! 7th and 8th Grade Bands :  Beginning 3rd marking period you will be responsible for checking your bi-weekly ( that is, one every 2 weeks!) assignment on Google Classroom , practicing the example(s) and recording them to be reviewed by Mr. D. on Google Classroom .   Grades will be posted on Power Teacher only! High School Band :   Your Performance Tests are due on Google Classroom by this Friday (that's in only 4 days!!!)  This is a 100 point grade!   Y ou can also play it "live" in the band office this Friday during period 9 or during a s
